What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda (EYE-yer-VAY-da) is a holistic healing system with roots in ancient India. 

Ayurveda is a big picture approach to healing and managing health for both body and mind stemming from the same vedic roots as yoga. Ayurveda is often dubbed “the sister-science to yoga” as they were both traditionally practiced together.

Ayurveda recognizes that we are all unique, each requiring different needs for obtaining optimal health.

Most of Ayurveda focuses on diet and lifestyle management in everyday life. Through a combination of nutrition, yoga/exercise, meditation, breath-work and herbs, Ayurveda works to bring the body back to its natural, balanced state.

Customization and Consistency are what make it work!

These are my top 5 favorite aspects of Ayurveda:

✨ Ayurveda is a forever evolving practice. I’ve been learning and practicing Ayurveda for years now. Slowly, slowly I have been incorporating this wisdom into my lifestyle.

 

⚖️ Ayurveda is a path to bring yourself back to balance. It’s okay to overindulge in food & activities at times. Ayurveda has the wisdom to help us realign.

 

🙏 Rituals & Routines are essential.  Cultivating a morning routine took me a lonnnng time, but has since changed my life for the better.  It sets me up to be more intentional and present with my senses throughout my day.

 

💕 Ayurveda encourages self-acceptance.  We all have our own unique make-ups and individual needs that require attention.  This is not a one-size fits all approach to health and well-being.

 

🍲 Nourishment is key. It’s not just what you look like.  It’s about how well you are functioning. It’s about health for the WHOLE self (emotional, mental, physical, spiritual). And our whole bodies, our muscles, tissues, organs, bones & minds.
